Why doesn’t the package come with a resealable zipper? I find it inconvenient to store the dried larvae after opening.
Great question! We skipped resealable zippers because dried larvae make fine crumbs. These get stuck in zippers, causing poor sealing. Use a simple chip clip to seal the bag—keeps larvae dry, crisp and fresh, better than zippers for this product!
Shelf Life?
730 days shelf life, please resecure the bag with a clip after every use and must be stored in a cool dry place.
How should l feed Black Soldier Fly Larvae to my chickens?
Regular Feeding Ratios:
Daily supplement: 10-15% BSFL mixed with 85-90% regular feed;
During molting or stress: 15-20% BSFL for extra protein support;
Treat feeding: 20-25% BSFL as an occasional high-protein treat.
Can I feed Black Soldier Fly Larvae to chicks, ducklings, or other young poultry?
Absolutely! For young poultry (1–4 weeks old), we recommend crushing the larvae into fine powder and mixing it with their starter feed. This makes it easier to digest and prevents choking risks.
What if my poultry refuses to eat feed mixed with Black Soldier Fly Larvae?
Some picky eaters need time to adjust! Try mixing a small amount (5%) with their favorite feed first, then gradually increase the ratio. You can also sprinkle crushed larvae on top of their feed as a "topping" to entice them.
